I have the pleasure of directing one of the centers of the Warsaw Institute of Aviation – the Materials and Structures Research Center. The Center came to life as a result of the longstanding (since the establishment of the Institute in 1926) activity of the Institute in the area of strength research of materials and aircraft structures.
Following its reorganization and transfer of test stands and research technologies, due to the Polish – US offset agreement from 2003, the MSRC has become one of the most modern laboratory complexes in Europe.
The Materials and Structures Research Center comprises two subdivisions – the Material Tests Subdivision and the Structural Tests Subdivision specializing in strength and nondestructive testing of structural materials and elements.
All MSRC staff are highly qualified engineers and technicians with the relevant experience in research testing. Our labs are equipped with state of the art facilities and instrumentation, enabling a broad range of tests for the global aircraft industry.
Our activities are built on a policy of providing the highest standards of research. Good professional practice is confirmed by our numerous certificates, especially the Accreditation Certificate for Testing Laboratory No AB 792, which is issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation and confirms meeting the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Standard.
In June 2008 the MSRC met the requirements of the bronze level in the ACE operating system (Achieving Competitive Excellence), used in the United Technologies Corporation.
Our clients in the global market include major international concerns such as Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Hamilton Sundstrand, MTU or EADS-CASA, while in Poland we cooperate with, among others, PZL-Mielec, WSK-Rzeszów and VOLVO Auto Polska Sp. z o.o.
Our objective is to fully satisfy the needs of our present and future clients, and our vision is to become the leading European laboratory complex offering services to the global aviation industry. We are also amenable to cooperation with other industries, includ-ing: the automotive, rail, energy, food and chemical.
I encourage you to become familiar with the services we offer and hope to welcome you as our client in the future.
