Legal grounds

The Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, pursuant to Article 5 item 2 of the Act on Academic Degrees and Academic Titles of 14 March 2003, after consultation with the General Council for Higher Education, decided to authorise the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw to confer the academic degree of ‘doktor nauk technicznychin the field of study of construction and operation of machinery.

Preparations for doctoral studies at the Institute of Aviation are conducted on the basis of the following legal grounds:

  1. Decision No. BCK-VI-U-Dr-259/2013 of the Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles on 30 September 2013 on the granting of an authorisation to the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw to confer the academic degree of ‘doktor nauk technicznychin the field of study of construction and operation of machinery

  2. The Act on Academic Degrees and Academic Titles as well as Art Degrees and Titles of 14 March 2003 (Journal of Laws No. 65, item 595, as amended).

  3. The Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 22 September 2011 on the detailed manner of carrying out the doctoral degree preparation process, the ‘habilitacja’ proceedings and the proceedings for the conferment of the title of professor (Journal of Laws No. 204, item 1200, as amended).

The person wanting to embark on a PhD research project (the Candidate) is required to apply to the Director of the Institute of Aviation.

The Candidate, in agreement with their academic supervisor, submits a written declaration of being ready to conduct a seminar, suggesting the date and place thereof, along with the request to embark on the doctoral research project.

The Candidate is required to present a concept of his/her doctoral dissertation, the planned test and research methods and the expected scientific results at the seminar.
