The aim of the project is to design an adaptive landing gear system, through the development of a structural design project and the examination of a chosen solution and the performance of an innovative landing gear containing active damping elements  with possibility to change settings versus changeable outside conditions.

The project will be applied with damping heads with piezo-actuators due to the minimum weight of the system, operational reliability and trouble-free and repeatable filling ofshock absorbers – compared to solutions with MRF (Magnetoreological Fluids).

The advantage of a solution is the optimization of the current design in field of extending life limits by reducing maximum transient system loads in take off – landing cycles and thereby design optimization which purpose is to reduce overall dimension and weight of landing gear components.

As a result of this project, rotorcraft landing gearwith adaptive system will be demonstrated.
