Visit of Mr. Dietmar Schrick Managing Director of the BDLI at the Institute of Aviation

March 22, 2012 Mr. Dietmar Schrick, Managing Director of BDLI visited the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw. The German Aerospace Industries Association (Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V. – BDLI) has more than 190 members and represents the interests of an industrial sector, which owing to international technology leadership and worldwide success has become a significant driver of economic growth in Germany. Combining almost all strategic key technologies, the German aerospace industry achieves a turnover of currently 24.7 billion euros with a directly employed labor force of around 95,400. One of the purposes of the visit was granting Poland the status of the official partner at ILA – International Exhibition & aerospace (Internationale Luft-und Raumfahrtausstellung), which will be held 11 – 16 September 2012. ILA is the oldest aerospace fairs in the world. In 2012 will be held the one hundred first edition! It is also one of the biggest events of this kind in the world. For the first time the exhibition will be organized in a new location – Berlin ExpoCenter Airport, adjacent to the newly built Berlin Brandenburg International Airport in Schoenefeld. The thematic scope of the event will include military and civil aviation, air transport, airlines, airport operators, air traffic organization, administration, business aviation services, commercial traffic, combat aircraft, transportation, unmanned aircraft, ultralight aircraft, civil and military helicopters, equipment, engines, materials, parts, new technologies, equipment and components, exhibition and forum on space travel and training. During the meeting, Mr. Wojciech Potkański informed guests about the activities of the Institute of Aviation. Mr. Andrzej Iwaniuk gave an overview of the Small Air Transportation – Roadmap project in the context of the conference which will be held at the ILA. At the meeting, was presented project of the unmanned helicopter, which will be showed at the ILA. Guests from Germany presented a draft of this year’s event and promised information support of the SAT-Roadmap conference. The last part of the meeting was the sightseeing tour in the Institute of Aviation.
