On 14 October 2016 the Institute of Aviation is organizing the 7th Night at the Institute of Aviation – the biggest educational night event, whose purpose is to promote aviation and space sectors as well as engineering professions. The event will be held from 5 p.m. till 11 p.m. at the premises of the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw. Entrance is free for everyone.

The biggest attraction of this year’s edition will be the arrival of the multi-role F-16 aircraft, MiG-29 fighter and CASA C295M transport aircraft.

Our guests will also have a unique opportunity to meet the creators of the “303 Squadron” movie.

For those who like technology but also admire the beauty of flying machines, the acrobatic team “Żelazny” with their plane will take place. On this special day the Institute of Aviation will witness the Polish premiere of the SD-150 Hero helicopter produced by PZL Świdnik/ Leonardo Helicopters.

In total, this year almost 30 airplanes and helicopters will be presented including the air rescue helicopter known from previous editions. The beautiful white-and-red “Iskra” will provide flame attractions.

Guests of the Night will also be able to see unique designs of the Polish technological thought: a Cyber Fish prototype, whose biomechanical capabilities will be presented live in the pool, a 3D model of the new means of transport, Hyperloop, which is a combination of aviation and rail technology, as well as Mars rovers and drones that every year win top honors at prestigious international competitions.

Fans of virtual reality will be able to venture into another dimension with the Octopus platform and try out flight simulators, thank to which they will feel like professional pilots, feeling every vibration and a gust of the wind.

There will also be an opportunity to meet in person, talk and listen to lectures of sport, aerobatic, glider and military pilots with the special participation of a representative of the Argentine Air Forces, as well as experts in the field of air technologies.

Once again, a viewing terrace will be available for spotters and astrophotography fans.

This year’s event will also include the second part of the charity action organized by the association “Sercem malowane” with the support of the Institute of Aviation. You will be able to buy paintings and illustrations submitted for this purpose by artists from around the world and aviation postcards, whose authors are children from all over Poland. Some projects will also be shown at a special exhibition. The collected amount will be spent on organizing holidays for underprivileged children from our district.

During the evening road rescue shows are planned. This year’s special attraction will be a show of cutting a car. Especially for guests the Military Orchestra of Dęblin will play and parade.

As every year, you better not miss the giant aircraft engines. Engineers of the Institute of Aviation will guided tours in wind tunnels and modern laboratories. A wide range offer will be presented by Engineering Design Center – an engineering center set up in the framework of the strategic cooperation by General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Its engineers will present their activities not only in the aviation industry, but also in the mining, energy and transport industries. Apart from the rich interactive exhibition presenting the design and application of devices created by EDC engineers, the visitors will see the world’s largest vacuum chamber for testing aircraft engines, which can accommodate the world’s largest produced aircraft engine GE90.

Especially for guests a futuristic-looking robot for laying composite strips used at the Center for Composite Technology of the Institute of Aviation will be displayed. Fans of the universe will be able to take a photo of a ILR-33 “Amber” mock rocket developed at the Center for Space Technology Institute of Aviation. There will also be an exhibition of aerial photography by Sławek “Hesja” Krajniewski and Maciej Margas and drawings of a pilot from World War II, sec. Jerzy Główczewski.

Specially designed illumination has been prepared for the event. The DJ will take care of good mood, and for the tired ones gastronomic specialties will be prepared.

The 7th Night at the Institute of Aviation takes place in the framework of the Jubilee of the 90th anniversary of the Institute of Aviation under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
