On June 27, 2018, the National Forum for Stakeholders of Agenda 2030, devoted to the Agenda 2030 and to the objectives of  sustainable development goals (SDGs), was held at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology. As part of the event, the ceremony of accepting new signatories of the “Partnership for the implementation of sustainable development goals in Poland” was organized. On behalf of the Institute of Aviation, the signature under the joint Partnership Charter was submitted by Deputy Director of the Institute of Aviation – Sylwester Wyka.

The aim of the Forum was a substantive debate, exchange of information and best experience, and establishing effective cooperation between representatives of various environments to achieve the goals of sustainable development under the 2030 UN Agenda.

During the Forum there was also a ceremony of joining new entities to this initiative.

The joining of the Institute of Aviation to the group of partners proves the active involvement in implementing the principles of sustainable development within the organization.

The event was also an opportunity to present the Polish report on the implementation of the goals of Agenda 2030, which will be presented at the High Level Political Forum of the United Nations in New York in July this year.

We transform our world: Agenda 2030 for sustainable development, adopted in 2015 by 193 countries of the United Nations (UN), is a program of unprecedented scope and importance, defining the model of sustainable development at the global level. According to Agenda 2030, the modernization effort should focus on eliminating poverty in all its manifestations, while simultaneously pursuing a number of economic, social and environmental goals.

Agenda 2030 includes 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and 169 related tasks that reflect the three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental. This is a universal development plan for the world, which requires adaptation to the realities of each country, hence the role of countries in implementation is crucial.

The Polish perspective of actions for sustainable and responsible economic development is formulated in the Strategy for Responsible Development (SRO), which is an instrument of flexible management of the main development processes of the country.

The coordinator of the process of implementing the Strategy for Responsible Development and the UN Agenda at the government level is the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology.
