Institute of Aviation in International measurement project European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF)
prof. Manuel Francois from UTTOn the 12 to 17 of November Mrs. Elzbieta Gadalińska from the NET Institue took part in the international measurement project in the prestigious research center which gives an access to the synchrotron radiation: European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble. In the project took part representatives from the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Sciences of AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Université de Technologie Troyes (UTT) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métries in Paris (ENSAM). The measurement concerned two-phases steel, MMC composites in the initial state, under the loading and during the coexisting damage and necking phenomena.
The synchrotron measurement enables obtaining the information on the stress state and the micromechanical properties of individual phase of alloy in significantly shorten time and with better resolution than in case of the traditional X-ray diffractometer.
Our representative participation in this project will affect with the higher competence and capacity of our laboratory team.
