It is with real satisfaction I present to you the most important premises of the Institute of Aviation’s Strategy for 2019-2024. It should be emphasized that this is the first such integrated and multi-threaded document presenting the long-term intentions of our institution. It was created thanks to the enormous effort of the Institute’s employees, with the support of industry experts and business consulting. As a result of this analytical work, both the key micro and macroeconomic assumptions underlying the development of strategic forecasts as well as the set of competences constituting the research potential of the Institute of Aviation have been updated.

The development of the new strategy was dictated by a number of changes in the external and internal environment. In an era of dynamic growth of the complexity of the environment, geographical expansion and blurring of boundaries between industries, it is increasingly difficult to determine the opportunities and threats that flow from outside as well as from within the organization. There is a need to create strategies using increasingly complex analytical tools, taking into account the dynamics of changes in the environment. The entire management system has to be reassessed.

The Institute of Aviation is active in more than a dozen highly dynamic industries involving advanced technologies, with a wide geographical range. Most of them are considered strategic not only for the development of the Polish economy (included in the Strategy for Responsible Development), but also for the global economy (Industry 4.0 concept). Functioning in such diversified economic areas requires us to prioritize strategic activities and determine the methods of their implementation, taking into account current as well as future opportunities and threats resulting from the specificity of the business ecosystem and the strategic potential of the organization.

The new strategy – approved by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Aviation on December 18, 2018 – defines the mission, vision, strategic research areas and defines the goals for 2019-2024.

Work on the strategy is continuous. This is required by the specifics and dynamics of the development of the business ecosystem of the Institute of Aviation. The Institute wants to be a vanguard not only in the technological dimension, but also from the organizational and market points of view. This causes the necessity of systematic monitoring of the environment, the development of innovative solutions and their effective implementation, which we intend to do with full determination.

The greatest value of the Institute of Aviation is people whose effective work is the implementation of our strategy. We employ the best specialists from various industries to design and create innovative technological solutions together. We believe that thanks to the high skills and commitment of our employees, our modern organizational culture and efficient management, it will be possible to further develop the Institute of Aviation, as well as meet our customers’ expectations.
